Leopardo Breaks Ground on New Glen Ellyn Police Department

Leopardo broke ground on a new police station for the Glen Ellyn Police Department on Tuesday, July 5. The new station will be located near Panfish Park and will replace the undersized and outdated station currently housed in a former junior high school that was built in 1928, which also serves as the village’s Civic Center. The police department has occupied the current station for more than 40 years.

The new facility will provide increased security, space and privacy. Once complete, the new 2-story station will include detention facilities and an enclosed sally port, as well as evidence processing with storage and vehicle exam, emergency operating center, patrol investigations, administration, community room and fitness area.

The Leopardo-led design-build project is being completed in collaboration with architecture firm Dewberry and is slated for a summer 2017 completion date.
