Leopardo Breaks Ground on Outpatient Care Center in Kildeer

Leopardo broke ground on Northwest Community Healthcare’s (NCH) new outpatient care center in Kildeer, Illinois on Friday, November 16. The two-story building is being constructed on a five-acre site located at the southeast corner of Rand and Cuba roads.

The groundbreaking ceremony included NCH President and CEO Steve Scogna, Leopardo President and CEO Mike Leopardo, Ankura Senior Managing Director Fred Campobasso, Ankura Managing Director Mike O’Keefe, Kildeer Village President Nandia Black, among others.

The new outpatient care center will meet the increasing demand and growing need for healthcare services and providers in the area. It will also replace an existing NCH immediate care center across the road at 1201 S. Rand Rd.

“I am very excited about this project and how it supports our vision to provide state-of-the-art access to healthcare services in the community,” says Scogna. “NCH is proud to be a community focused organization that offers the best in healthcare. This project is another example of our commitment.”

The outpatient care center will house primary care and specialty physician clinics and an immediate care center. It will offer a full-service imaging center with MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, cardiac diagnostics and bone densitometry. The center will also house a separate breast imaging center offering mammography and breast ultrasound, as well as physical therapy, occupational therapy, intensive cardiac rehab and a lab draw site.

Leopardo is teamed with architecture firm Jensen & Halstead to deliver the project under a design-build approach. The project is owned by a joint venture between NCH and Medicus Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on investing in healthcare real estate developments across the U.S. Ankura’s Healthcare Capital Asset Solutions Group, an affiliate of Medicus Capital, is providing development and program management services on behalf of the joint venture.

Construction of the Kildeer outpatient care center is slated for completion in late 2019.

For more than 20 years, Leopardo and NCH Medical Group have partnered on significant projects, such as the Cyberknife/HDR build-out and the Endoscopy Recovery Center in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
