Leopardo Honored with Great Citizen Award from the Village of Hoffman Estates

Leopardo was honored with the Hoffman Estates Great Citizen Award at a village board meeting on November 19 for its work with the Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County in Hoffman Estates. The award is given in recognition of those who consistently demonstrate excellent community leadership through philanthropic events.

The Children’s Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers and heals abused children. The organization sees more than 800 children and their families each year by serving 38 communities in the Cook County area.

Volunteering its skills and resources in construction, Leopardo has worked to ensure the center is a safe and welcoming place for all. Most recently, Leopardo employees gathered to complete repair work and building maintenance. Leopardo Sustainability Manager Patty Lloyd, Project Manager Ryan Haase and Carpenter Foreman Berndt Goess accepted the award from Village Mayor Bill McLeod on Monday night.

Since its founding, community service has been a core value at Leopardo, as demonstrated by its countless volunteer initiatives, fundraisers, non-profit partnerships, above-and-beyond services, a charitable foundation, a charitable band and commitment to good corporate citizenship.

Leopardo’s in-house community service committee, Helping Hands, helps coordinate the volunteer work with Children’s Advocacy Center. The committee’s mission is to provide Leopardo employees the opportunity to serve our communities and others in need by giving of ourselves as a company.
