Leopardo Hosts Commercial Real Estate Development Firm at Upshot Medical Center Project in Florida

Leopardo recently hosted NAIOP Developing Leaders of Central Florida Chapter at its Upshot Medical Center at Mills Park (UMC) project in Orlando, Florida. Event attendees, led by Leopardo project engineer Damon DuPraw, senior superintendent Kevin Kerr, and vice president of business development Leo Everson, toured the site of one of the largest Class A, LEED-designed medical office projects in the country. Visitors were given an exclusive, behind the scenes look at the out of the ground construction of a pivotal healthcare facility and a key project for Leopardo’s geographic expansion into Florida.

“Leopardo is incredibility excited to be a part of Central Florida’s thriving marketplace,” said Everson. “Our depth of expertise and versatility across markets make us a great partner for the Orlando area, and we are looking forward to breaking ground on our next project later this year.”

The Upshot Medical Center project, currently the sixth largest medical office building being built in the country, includes two buildings: a five-story, 72,000-SF north tower and a future six-story, 90,000-SF south tower. Additionally, the project features a six-story parking garage with over 850 spaces, an outdoor courtyard, and a top-floor terrace. The buildings are designed to prioritize social responsibility and health, with pre-glazed curtain walling that provides an elegant aesthetic and ultra-thermal performance. The project comes as part of a joint venture partnership between Leopardo Companies and Upshot Construction Services, the construction division of Upshot Capital Advisors’ vertically integrated private equity real estate platform.
