Century Shopping Center

This large-scale Lakeview area mall renovation of the Century Shopping Center, which began as a vaudeville theater in the 1920’s and turned into a shopping mall in the 1970’s, required remarkable innovation and meticulous coordination by Leopardo. Renovating this building while the shopping center remained open required careful orchestration and some creative moves. Imagine threading a tower crane down through open skylights, sequentially removing the sixth floor and the roof or spanning hanging escalators across the open atrium while shoppers wander below.
