Leopardo was selected by the Archon Group from Dallas, TX to build their new 400,000 square foot Target anchored retail shopping center in Hoffman Estates. Leopardo was brought on early during the project’s design phase and worked with the project team to dial in the project cost to meet the owner’s budget while maintaining the architectural design and satisfying the building standards established by the village.

  • 42-acre site development included mass excavation and site utility work
  • Ground up construction of this A+ power center included delivering the in-line building and seven outlot buildings totalling 275,000-SF of retail. The buildings were constructed using load bearing masonry with steel roof joists. The façade features Atlas brick with prairie stone and eifs cladding. The back wall was constructed with pre-cast concrete panels.
  • From the time vertical construction began, Leopardo utilized multiple sub-contractors in the key trades and project phasing to complete shell construction for the inline and outlot buildings in just over four months
  • Leopardo worked around a 24″, 600 psi, natural gas pipeline that ran directly down the middle of the site from north to south. The pipeline, which was just three feet below final grade in some areas, required establishing a 50′ demark zone parallel to the pipe to ensure protection of the gas line and job-site safety. Anytime work was conducted inside the zone, a Kinder-Morgan representative was on hand to witness and supervise the activity.
