Leopardo Completes Rush Oak Brook Orthopaedic Center

Leopardo completed the three-story construction of the new Rush Oak Brook Orthopaedic Center at 2011 York Rd. in Oak Brook, Illinois.

A joint venture between Rush University Medical Center and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, this new medical outpatient building and surgery center accommodates 17 specialties, ranging from primary care and neurology to endocrinology and more. The facility includes outpatient surgical suites, clinical office space, more than 65 exam rooms, a full advanced imaging center, physical and occupational therapy spaces, operating and procedure rooms, space for additional diagnostic and treatment services, retail space serving building tenants, as well as an attached 500-space parking deck.

“Leopardo is truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to be on the Rush University Medical Center and Midwest Orthopaedics team.” said Leopardo Senior Vice President Giancarlo Pacini. “We were extremely proud to be among the forward-thinking owners, designers and owner’s representatives working in tandem to deliver this iconic and complex project.”

While providing access to other Rush surgical and clinical specialties, the Oak Brook facility centers on Rush’s nationally top-ranked orthopedic care. The new medical building houses about 100 employees and specialists in various medical disciplines. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush occupies the first floor, with 16 patient exam rooms, a cast room, physical therapy, occupational therapy, MRI and X-ray services. 50 patient exam rooms and seven procedure rooms are housed on the second floor, along with CT and X-ray imaging and a comprehensive breast imaging and ultrasound program. An outpatient surgery center sits on the third floor for musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal and other surgical procedures. The facility’s surgery center features six operating rooms and two procedure rooms.

Serving as construction manager, Leopardo collaborated with architect CannonDesign and development manager Ankura Healthcare Real Estate to complete the project.
