Leopardo Breaks Ground on Affordable Senior Housing Complex Renovation
Leopardo recently broke ground on a renovation and adaptive reuse of the former Ravenswood Hospital Specialty Care Pavilion at 4501 N. Winchester Ave. in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood. Originally built in 1974, the 10-story building and has sat vacant since 2009 and is now being converted into a new senior living complex.
The new complex will feature a total of 193 units, 119 of which will be designated for supportive living and 74 for independent living, with the addition of a four-story annex to supply additional residential units to the complex. The project will also include a complete facade rehabilitation, including masonry restoration, window and entrance systems, porte cochere and outdoor amenity spaces.
“Leopardo is proud to be a part of a project that will bring life back into this building and provide the needed affordable housing to this area’s senior residents,” said Mike Mastin, Vice President at Leopardo Companies.
Leopardo is collaborating with Chicago Housing Authority, Illinois Housing Development Authority, Evergreen Real Estate Group and Worn Jerabek Wiltse Architects to complete the project by the spring of 2021.
