Leopardo Completes Health Department for Will County
Leopardo recently completed a two-story health department for Will County in Joliet, Illinois, replacing an existing facility, which was one of the county’s oldest buildings.
With a population of 700,000 projected to grow to over 1.2 million in the next 30 years, Will County has been working to build safe and modern facilities to better serve its present and future generations of residents. Having marked a significant milestone in this pursuit with the opening of its Public Safety Complex, also built by Leopardo, Will County and Leopardo are proud to unveil the county’s new Health Department, which will provide comprehensive public health programs and health resources for the surrounding communities.
“We could not have been happier to once again team up with Will County and serve its growing community of residents,” said Leopardo Senior Vice President Leigh McMillen.
Construction included a complete demolition of the existing building and a reconstruction of a new first-floor footprint. The new facility features department suites for emergency preparedness and response, environmental health, family health, behavioral health and administration, as well as a TB clinic, a testing laboratory, multipurpose and conference rooms, waiting rooms, kitchenettes, breakrooms and a 350-space parking lot.
Leopardo collaborated with Kluber Architects + Engineers to complete the project.
