Renovation and expansion of the VA Maryland Health Care System’s Loch Raven VA Medical Center
Center offers specialized inpatient, outpatient and primary care services, as well as serves as a leader in providing rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, coordinating the delivery of physical therapy, occupational therapy, kinesiotherapy and recreation therapy to achieve the highest level of recovery and independence for Maryland’s veterans
Cheerful and home-like setting for veterans, with spacious living quarters, private bathrooms, beautiful patios and gardens, as well as warmly decorated dining areas and group lounges
Ground up expansion and additional associated renovations and tie-ins
New second story addition to an existing robotics research facility, stair/elevator tower and pedestrian walkway connecting the expansion space to the existing community living center (CLC)

Key Challenges:

Developed a project-specific safety plan to address the unique safety needs and challenges presented by building during the pandemic

Work was completed while the center remained open and occupied
