Leopardo Announces 2016 Charitable Contributions
Leopardo Companies is pleased to announce that contributions made through the Leopardo Charitable Foundation reached more than $289,000 in 2016.
The Leopardo Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the core values of kindness, goodwill, compassion and benevolence. Every year the foundation aids dozens of deserving charities that promote education, health, technology and wellness. Since 2004, Leopardo and its foundation have raised and donated well over $1.5 million.
This year, support was given to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, Turning Pointed Autism Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, City of Hope and the Anti-Cruelty Society, among many others.
For nearly four decades, corporate responsibility has been a core value of Leopardo. In addition to the charitable foundation, the company and its employees participate in countless volunteer initiatives, fundraisers, non-profit partnerships, above-and-beyond services, a charitable band, as well as good corporate citizenship.
Leopardo’s community-minded approach to business stemmed from its founder and CEO, James Leopardo, and has organically grown into an important distinguishing characteristic throughout the company. In 2016, Leopardo employees collaborated on 12 community service projects, including Feed My Starving Children, Rebuilding Together and DuPage Habitat for Humanity. This year’s efforts bring the company’s total to 85 community service projects over the last decade.
Liquidated Damages, the company’s charitable rock band comprised of musicians from Leopardo and its business partners, played numerous benefit concerts in 2016 that raised an additional $405,000 for various non-profit organizations. Since the band’s founding in 1999, it alone has raised more than $3 million for charities, including Beacon Therapeutics, Aspire, Homes for Heroes, Alzheimer’s Association, City of Hope, USO-Illinois and more.
