Leopardo Begins Work on New Affordable Senior Housing Project
Leopardo recently began work on a new four-story, 54,106-square-foot affordable senior housing development in Mount Prospect, Illinois. The project will develop a plot of land that has sat vacant since 1975 and, in turn, serve the growing need for affordable senior accommodations in the area.
“We’re excited to be part of the team bringing this decades old vision to life and to serve the needs of the aging residents of the community,” said Leopardo senior vice president Mike Mastin.
The new residence will feature 41 one-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom units, and is being financed through low-income tax housing credits.
Leopardo is working closely with Prospect Senior Lofts, Pivotal Housing Partners, and BDCL Architects to deliver the project by the summer of 2024.
Pivotal began developing affordable housing in 1993. Since then, they have developed more than 7,000 affordable housing units ranging across a broad spectrum of housing types: multi-story apartment properties for families and seniors, villas, single-family developments, rehabs, adaptive reuse of existing buildings in large and small communities. Pivotal has a singular focus on developing quality affordable housing for those who need it most. This includes over 100 affordable housing properties in 15 states.
