- 30,000-SF expansion and build-out of an adult emergency department, creating one of Chicago’s first Level 1 trauma centers
- Converted the street-level portion of an existing post tension parking garage at the medical center into the new space
- Features 24 exam rooms, six trauma bays, rapid assessment areas, CT and X-ray rooms, as well as a separate psych area
- Connected the first floor with the above level with a new stairway, elevator lobby and chute system
- Created and indoor ambulance bay with a decontamination room and separate male/female scrub areas for infectious disease
- Created a separate corridor at the existing bridge from the new elevators to the existing hospital
- New switch gear and ATS rooms, new air handler unit and three new elevators
- Over 500 feet of various piping installed through the existing hospital and tunnels
