Patty Lloyd

With 21 years of experience in sustainability within the construction industry, Patty Lloyd is a recognized leader in advancing green building practices within the built environment. Since joining Leopardo Construction in 2004, she has spearheaded the company’s corporate ESG strategy and project sustainability initiatives. This has included achieving third-party certification systems and wellness standards in alignment with client and corporate goals.

Patty has led Leopardo’s sustainability efforts on over 45 sustainable projects, including three that she led from concept to completion. Her portfolio represents over $800 million in sustainable development and over four and a half million square feet.

Patty brings deep technical knowledge of major green rating systems including LEED, the WELL Building Standard, Enterprise Green Communities, NGBS, and Green Globes. Her most recent work includes advancing sustainability in multifamily housing such as the Encuentro Square affordable housing project, which integrates Enterprise Green Communities, the ComEd Affordable Housing New Construction Program, the Chicago Sustainable Development Policy, and Leopardo’s internal job site sustainability strategies. Additionally, she has led Leopardo’s green building efforts on several successful healthy and high performing building projects in the Chicago area including Perkins Eastman, and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.

Dedicated to shaping the future of sustainable construction, Patty has served in many leadership roles in the building industry, including current roles on the USGBC Design & Construction Consensus Committee, and the Illinois Architecture Foundation, and the Chicago Sustainable Construction Leaders.  Previous roles include serving on the AIA-Illinois Board of Directors, the Illinois Green Alliance board of directors, the USGBC Materials and Resources Technical Advisory Group and the Illinois Living Future Community. In addition, she has volunteered in several working groups for the U.S. Department of Energy and the City of Chicago Decarbonization Task Force. She also does extensive public speaking to increase awareness and knowledge about sustainable practices in construction and the built environment. Patty is also a LEED Fellow, Living Future Accredited Professional, and WELL AP.

Patty has been recognized as a Notable Leader in Sustainability by Crain’s Chicago Business in both 2022, 2023 and 2024 and received the inaugural Heart of Illinois Green Award in 2021. She holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University, and an associate degree in business management from the College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota.
