Leopardo Completes 10,000-SF Renovation of Splash Valley Aquatic Park

Leopardo recently completed a 10,000-square-foot renovation of the Splash Valley Aquatic Park in Kankakee, Illinois. After closing in 2016 due to numerous equipment and mechanical failures, the three-acre site sat unused until the park board generated funding.

The new aquatic center features a four-lane lap pool, zero-depth pool, two new sand volleyball courts, as well as various other site improvements, such as a new patio area and decorative walkways.

Demolition and removal of an existing lazy river made way for a future diving pool and splash pad. Leopardo also refurbished slides and various pool activity equipment, as well as blast cleaned and repainted the existing zero-depth pool, lap pool and slide plunge pool.

Work also included architectural repairs and facility upgrades to the concessions area, locker rooms, bathhouse, chemical room and pump house. All of the existing pool pumps, heaters, chemical feed systems and other pool equipment were also replaced.

Leopardo collaborated with architecture firm The Farnsworth Group to complete the project.
