Leopardo Ranks Among ENR’s 2022 List of Top 100 Green Contractors

Leopardo has again made Engineering News-Record (ENR)’s list of Top 100 Green Contractors, which ranks firms according to revenue for construction or design services generated in 2021 from projects that have been registered with or certified by a third-party organization that sets standards for measuring a building’s or facility’s environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint, such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Green Building Initiative.

As an early adopter of the green construction movement in the Midwest, Leopardo is a recognized leader in sustainable building practices with extensive project experience spanning all Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification levels, multiple LEED rating systems, the WELL Building Standard, and numerous other rating systems. Since 2005, Leopardo has completed more than 4.4 million square feet of healthy-high performing space, has built more than 50 certified projects, and currently employs professionals certified in LEED, WELL, Living Future Accreditation (LFA), Certified Passive House Builder, and GPRO.

“When it comes to reducing energy use of buildings and greenhouse gas emissions, contractors and designers have a pivotal role to play,” said Director of Sustainability Patty Lloyd. “Industry experts are evaluating the life cycle of buildings for opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of that sector, and it has become clear that reducing the embodied carbon in building materials will have a measurable and meaningful impact on reducing the building’s total operational and embodied carbon.”

Leopardo is proud to rank among a class of contractors all working hard toward building a healthier, more sustainable future and making changes that will change lives in positive ways for generations to come.
