With a growing need for senior living accommodations in the Midwest, this new facility will provide the most advanced and most comfortable living experiences for all its residents.
Leopardo recently broke ground on a renovation and adaptive reuse of the former Ravenswood Hospital Specialty Care Pavilion at 4501 N. Winchester Ave. in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood.
The project consists of a complete gut renovation and construction of 350 total rooms and suites. The first floor will feature lobbies, amenities and conference rooms. The existing 15th floor will be modified with its roof removed in its entirety to build a new 16th-floor space with a restaurant/lounge.
The new apartment complex portion occupies the four floors above the library branch and consists of 44 affordable residences for seniors, each of which features a colorful balcony. In addition to the library, tenant amenities include a fitness room and access to the rooftop green space.
The project consisted primarily of robust tenant amenity upgrades, including a private bowling alley and gaming area, multiple event spaces, conference facilities, a fitness center, programmed yoga/spin room, secure bike room and more.

In the first of two nine-week phases, Leopardo completed a renovation of 300 rooms and corridors across floors one through five, as well as an executive sixth floor, with all-new and upgraded finishes, bathroom fixtures and finishes and lighting.
Leopardo recently completed a renovation of the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, converting the former police headquarters into the new College of DuPage Innovation DuPage Center.
Leopardo, serving as general contractor, collaborated with architect Shive Hattery to complete the project. Additional locations in Illinois, Tennessee and Oklahoma are set to be completed by fall 2019.
