This new, high-end residential building fills one of the last remaining undeveloped sites along the downtown lakefront.
In keeping with the firm’s commitment to employee wellness and environmental sustainability, this project is one of the first in Chicago seeking WELL v2 Gold certification.
The build-out took place on the 9th floor of Sterling Bay’s latest development at 210 N. Carpenter St., which was also built by Leopardo and houses the company’s dual LEED and WELL-seeking Chicago office.
In the first of two nine-week phases, Leopardo completed a renovation of 300 rooms and corridors across floors one through five, as well as an executive sixth floor, with all-new and upgraded finishes, bathroom fixtures and finishes and lighting.
Leopardo recently completed a renovation of the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, converting the former police headquarters into the new College of DuPage Innovation DuPage Center.
Leopardo, serving as general contractor, collaborated with architect Shive Hattery to complete the project. Additional locations in Illinois, Tennessee and Oklahoma are set to be completed by fall 2019.
Leopardo was recognized in the construction category for its recently-completed TAO Chicago project, which consisted of a 34,000-square-foot structural renovation and build-out of the 126-year-old historical landmark building at 632 N. Dearborn St.
The building is owned by LaSalle Investment Management and recently made headlines as the new location of the Chicago Bears headquarters.
In addition to serving as general contractor, Leopardo is also one of the building’s first tenants and is occupying the entire third floor.
The facility includes outpatient surgical suites, clinical office space, more than 65 exam rooms, a full advanced imaging center, physical and occupational therapy spaces, operating and procedure rooms, space for additional diagnostic and treatment services, retail space serving building tenants, as well as an attached 500-space parking deck.
